Weird Little Worlds Press Promises Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Adventure for All Ages

March 16, 2021

Weird Little Worlds is a new press for Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and fiction and non-fiction Adventure stories for all ages.

On March 8, 2021, Willow Dawn Becker and Michael Cluff launched the new publishing company, Weird Little Worlds Press. The small press is dedicated to bringing the best new voices in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and nonfiction and fiction adventure to a hungry audience.

Although the idea of Weird Little Worlds Press is relatively new, this is a plan that has been incubating for some time. The Utah- and Idaho-based company is grounded in the desire of both founders to create a paying fiction market for authors without a primarily literary bent. The goal of WLW Press is to create high-adventure fiction that is plot and character-driven—stories that are about ideas, things, and people, not necessarily inventive language.

Michael Cluff, WLW Press’ Editor, has been an independent editor since 2010, and also founded previous publishing efforts, including Fiction Vortex, and the successful crowdfunding of anthology “Grifty Shades of Fey” in 2019. His love of imaginative fiction comes from being an advocate for storytelling and its ability to create more empathy, understanding, and open new perceptions.

Willow Dawn Becker is also no stranger to writing and publishing. As a legal editor, viral blogger, and author of several short stories and novels, she has spent nearly two decades wrangling words. She brings her love of horror and adventure to the WLW Press family, as well as her long-standing Weird Little Worlds brand of quirky, introspective humor.

Weird Little Worlds Press is starting out strong with a new anthology, which will soon be available to support on Kickstarter. The anthology, “Humans are the Problem: A Monster’s Anthology,” will be a fun and inventive spin on monster tropes. The Kickstarter will launch on April 1st, 2021, and already has it’s first author—Sarah Read, the Bram Stoker Award-winning author of “The Bone Weaver’s Orchard,” from Trepidatio Publishing.
