Scream Kings Podcast #91- Who Watches the Watcher in the Woods?

March 5, 2023

If you’ve ever wanted to get inside the head of our fearless leader, CEO, Willow Dawn Becker, the Scream Kings have just granted your wish! In Episode #91, Scream Kings hosts Max George and Nathaniel Darkish pick Willow’s brains about bad babysitters, horror stories, Freddy’s Nightmares, and whether The Watcher in the Woods is a classic or Disney’s most epic failure.

In addition to learning about why Willow got into horror and the plans for the future of Weird Little Worlds, the trio discusses past projects including Humans are the Problem, Mother, and Leto’s Children. They also discuss the peculiar nostalgia we have for 80’s kid-centric horror like Mr. Boogedy, The Dark Crystal, and others, and debate the merits of the Disney retconned horror film The Watcher in the Woods (1970).

The group also discusses the recent popularity and accolades bestowed on the press’s anthologies, including the Bram Stoker Award®-nominated Mother: Tales of Love and Terror.

“I don’t know why I’ve been so blessed,” Willow says. “Maybe God is a horror fan.”
