Weird Little Worlds Press is proud to announce its annual Spring Anthology and Kickstarter, “The Robots Were Right: Tales of Unstoppable Technology.” This is our first-ever “new voices” anthology, but we are sure it won’t be the last.
Since 2021, Weird Little Worlds Press has been publishing an anthology in conjunction with our annual Kickstarter. The Kickstarter is a huge part of our business, making it possible for us to continue putting out great fiction like the six new books that we are putting in the 2024-2025 publishing season.
This anthology will be slightly different in that we have not invited featured authors. We have felt for the last few years that the quality of submitted work is exceptional, making it harder and harder to turn away the incredible stories that we read from our slush pile. So, for the first time ever, our anthology will be 100% filled with stories from unsolicited submissions.
Since our first anthology “Humans are the Problem: A Monster’s Anthology,” we have seen an increase in great storytelling and our submissions have continued to rise in number as well as caliber. For “The Robots Were Right,” we are projecting to have our largest slush pile yet, and are so excited to create another award-worthy anthology full of fresh new voices, stories, and styles.
The Kickstarter will open up on April 18th with the open submissions call on May 1-June 1. However, it is vital that we fund our project in order to bring it to life. Help us make the next great year of Weird Little Worlds and be a part of our community!
